Why you should do a 6 Week Challenge

As those who have trained with me for a while know, I LOVE a challenge.  Even better, I LOVE setting challenges that help stretch people and show them what they can actually achieve – which is usually more than they think!  Every year, one of the challenges that I throw into the mix is my EAT MOVE LIVE 6 Week Challenge and in 2024, it is even bigger and better than before!

First up, I’ve gone digital.  You can teach an old dog (or personal trainer) new tricks it would seem and moving my challenge onto an online portal means you have everything at your fingertips that will help you eat, move and live your way into healthier habits.  I’m really excited about this change, and I know you will love it too!

The question for some who have hesitated in the past is “Why should I do a Challenge”?  After all, you are already training so isn’t that enough?  It absolutely ticks a box in your healthy habits column but looking at your lifestyle holistically gives you an even better opportunity to feel and look amazing.

Eat Move Live looks at three pillars of health:

  • What you are eating

  • Moving / exercising (at your comfort level and beyond)

  • Living your best life from sleeping to socializing

But wait, I’ve got more….

Given I run a 6 Week Challenge, I’ve got 6 great reasons for you to jump on board and get your health moving in the right direction!

1. Accountability and Support (if you want it!)

One of the most significant benefits of joining a 6-week challenge is the built-in support system and accountability. You'll be surrounded by a fantastic group of people who share similar goals, providing encouragement, motivation, and even friendly competition along the way. Knowing that you're not alone and you can turn to the crew for support can make all the difference in staying committed and accountable to your goals.

2. Structured Program

My Eat Move Live Challenge is a well-designed program that includes information on what and how to eat, recipes, workout routines, and progress tracking. Having a structured plan gives you the knowledge and information you need to eat well and how to exercise, making it easier to stay on track and see results.

Plus, the duration of the challenge provides a clear timeline to work towards, keeping you focused and motivated. You can do anything at all for just 6 weeks!

3. Forming Healthy Habits

Research shows that it takes about 21 days to form a new habit, and a 6-week challenge provides ample time to establish healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Whether it's meal prepping, understanding portion control, or committing to regular exercise, participating in the challenge can help you adopt and maintain these habits long after it's over.

And really, that’s what my challenge is all about – a 6 week kickstart into a better life.  It doesn’t simply end after the Challenge because now you have all the knowledge to keep up the great habits that make you feel amazing!

4. Visible Results

With dedication and consistency, you'll start to see and feel the results of your hard work within the 6-week timeframe. Everyone has different goals and is starting from a different baseline so whether it's shedding some kilos, improving your lean muscle mass, or improving your overall fitness level, the progress you make during the challenge will be incredibly rewarding and motivating. Plus, seeing visible changes in your body can boost your confidence and keep you motivated to continue your healthy lifestyle beyond the challenge.

5. Learning and Growth

Beyond the physical benefits, participating in a 6-week challenge can also be a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. You'll learn more about your body, its needs, and what works best for you in terms of nutrition and exercise. Additionally, overcoming obstacles and pushing through challenges during the program can build resilience and confidence that extends beyond your fitness journey.  And a side order of fun and laughs doesn’t hurt either.

6. Community and Connection

Joining a 6-week challenge isn't just about improving your physical health—it's also an opportunity to connect with others and build a sense of community (if you want to connect, there’s no pressure to do so – you can totally go it alone as you’ll have all the information and tools you need!). Whether it's bonding over shared struggles and successes or celebrating each other's milestones, the relationships you form during the challenge can be incredibly meaningful and supportive.

That’s six pretty awesome reasons to get on board with health and fitness challenge so now it’s over to you.  We kick off the 2024 Eat Move Live Challenge on 1st March with some pre-reading, gearing you up to really get going from 11th March, so drop me a note on cath@inhousestudiofitness.com.au and I can get you on the road to being and feeling awesome!
